Background: Neurotrimin

HNT (NMT) codes for a protein is 344 amino acids long, weighing 37 kDa with three different isoforms that are 344 amino acids long, weighing 37 kDa, 316 amino acids long, weighing 34 kDa, and 355 amino acids long, weighing 39 kDa. The protein encoded by HNT functions as a neural cell adhesion molecule. Current studies are being done on several diseases and disorders includingcrimean-congo hemorrhagic fever, olivopontocerebrellar atrophy, epithelial ovarian cancer, bipolar disorder, choroiditis, Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, and neuronitis. HNT has also been shown to have interactions with LSAMP, NEGR1, PRNP, and YWHAB.
