Background: BMAL1
BMAL1 is highly expressed in the adult brain, skeletal muscle and heart, and has been associated with hypertension and type 2 diabetes. Because of its role in the circadian clock oscillator, BMAL-1 is also thought to be invloven seasonal affective disorder.
