What is DPBS?
Dulbecco’s Phosphate-Buffered Saline (DPBS) is a balanced salt solution containing potassium chloride, monobasic potassium phosphate, sodium chloride, and dibasic sodium phosphate. It is primarily used short-term for a variety of cell culture applications where there is the need of maintaining cells in a physiological pH range and providing them with salt ions for osmoregulation. Many versions of DBPS are available, some with the addition of Glucose as an energy source.
