Product Specifications

Immunogen

The original antibody was prepared by intraperitoneal immunization of a BALB/c mouse with LK63 cells (Uniprot#: P29320)

Specificity

The antibody binds to the native EphA3 globular ephrin-binding domain. The antibody targets a site closely adjacent to the heterotetramerization site on the N-terminal of EPHA3's extracellular domain adjacent to the ligand-binding site and has a high affinity for EPHA3.

Clonality

Monoclonal

Host

Rabbit

Isotype

IgG Kappa

Description

This is a chimeric rabbit antibody, based on the original mouse IgG1 format, created for improved compatibility with existing reagents, assays and techniques.

The nuclear stain is DAPI (blue). Panels show, from left-right, top-bottom, NBP3-48887, DAPI, merged channels, and an isotype control. The isotype control was an unknown specificity antibody followed by staining with Alexa Fluor® 488 secondary antibody.

Background: EphA3

Eph receptor A3 belongs to the ephrin receptor subfamily of the protein-tyrosine kinase family. EPH and EPH-related receptors have been implicated in mediating developmental events, particularly in the nervous system. Receptors in the EPH subfamily typically have a single kinase domain and an extracellular region containing a Cys-rich domain and 2 fibronectin type III repeats. The ephrin receptors are divided into 2 groups based on the similarity of their extracellular domain sequences and their affinities for binding ephrin-A and ephrin-B ligands. This gene encodes a protein that binds ephrin-A ligands. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene.
