Product Specifications

Immunogen

The exact immunogen is proprietary, but is composed of lysed nuclei of myeloid leukemia biopsy cells.

Reactivity Notes

Predicted cross-reactivities: Rat

Marker

Nuclear Marker

Specificity

This antibody recognises an antigen found in the nucleus. Antibody also preferentially reacts with histone H1/ DNA nucleosome as shown by ELISA and western blotting. In WB using non-reduced samples it recognises primarily a 30-32kDa histone H1 band, but other bands are present as well. This antibody stains nuclei of all human cell types and also stains chromosomes diffusely in metaphase cells. Intense diffuse staining is obtained in interphase cells. The epitope has not been mapped.

Background: Histone H1

Histone H1, a nuclear protein necessary for the condensation of nucleosome chains into higher order structures. This antibody stains nuclei of all human cell types and also stains chromosomes diffusely in metaphase cells. Intense diffuse staining is obtained in interphase cells.

Showing  1 - 2 of 2 FAQs Showing All
  • Q: Do you offer either free samples, or a trial size of this antibody?

A: We do not offer free samples or smaller units of this antibody. As an alternative, we do offer a 100% guarantee for the species and applications listed on the datasheet. If the antibody does not perform as promised, we will be happy to provide a refund or replacement.

  • Q: One of our customers injected Human cells into Rabbit tissue. Now he would like to perform IHC to see if Human cells still remain in the Rabbit tissue. The customer searched the Novus website and found NB100-65220. May we ask if NB100-65220 is suitable for such application?

A: I would actually not recommend this antibody to your customer as it is cross reactive to rabbit and human. The customer would require an antibody that only cross reacts with human. If the customer used this antibody they would not be able to differentiate between the human protein or the rabbit protein. I have taken a look for another nuclear antigen antibody however we do not have another one. I am really sorry we don't have what they are looking for.
