Background: FAM3C

FAM3C, also known as predicted Osteoblast protein, is a secreted 22 kDa glycoprotein belonging to the cytokine-like protein family. Members of this family share a four helix bundle secondary structure similar to that found in many cytokines. FAM3 is ubiquitously expressed in multiple tissues. The amino acid sequence of mature human FAM3C is 94% and 98% identical to that of mouse and canine FAM3C, respectively.
