Specificity

Detects endogenous human LAR in Western blots. In Western blots, this antibody detects both full-length protein and the cleaved LAR extracellular domain (ECD). It does not cross-react with recombinant human PTPRM, PTPRK, DEP1, or PTPR gamma.

Detection of Human LAR by Western Blot.

Western blot shows lysates of CHP-100 human neuroblastoma cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Human LAR Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB3004) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF005). A specific band was detected for LAR at approximately 139 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Lyophilized product is shipped at ambient temperature. Liquid small pack size (-SP) is shipped with polar packs. Upon receipt, store immediately at the temperature recommended below.

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Background: LAR

Leukocyte Antigen-Related (LAR) tyrosine phosphatase, also known as Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase, Receptor-type F (PTPRF), is an integral membrane protein with anon-glycosylated molecular weight of 207 kDa. The extracellular domain is cleaved near the cell membrane by a subtilisin-like endoprotease to a molecular weight of 139 kDa. Depending on cellular conditions, the extracellular domain may remain associated with the rest of the molecule or can be shed into the extracellular medium.
