Background: Neurophysin II

Neurophysin II is a carrier protein which binds vasopressin and is generated from the same precursor. It's predicted molecular weight is 17 kDa. The protein has been connected to a direct antidiuretic action on the kidney, as well as vasoconstriction of the peripheral vessels.
