Biological Activity

Monensin sodium salt is a sodium ionophore. Neutralizes acidic intracellular compartments. Disrupts Golgi apparatus structure and inhibits vesicular transport in eukaryotic cells. Induces apoptosis in prostate cancer cells. Antiprotozoal, antibacterial and antifungal agent.
