Detects recombinant mouse (rm) Cystatin C in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs and Western blots, 100% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) Cystatin C is observed, but no cross-reactivity with rhCystatins A, D, S, SA or SN, rmCystatins B or EM, rhFetuin B, rmFetuin A, rhHPRG, or rhKininogen is observed.

Detection of Mouse Cystatin C by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of mouse plasma and RAW 264.7 mouse monocyte/macrophage cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Rat Anti-Mouse Cystatin C Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1238) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF005). A specific band was detected for Cystatin C at approximately 14 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: Cystatin C
Cystatin C is an inhibitor of cysteine proteases including Cathepsins B, H, K, L, and S. It is ubiquitous in mouse tissues with highest expression levels in brain.
The reconstitution calculator allows you to quickly calculate the volume of a reagent to reconstitute your vial. Simply enter the mass of reagent and the target concentration and the calculator will determine the rest.
