Western blot shows mouse serum. PVDF Membrane was probed with 2 µg/mL of Rat Anti-Mouse IGFALS/ALS Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1436) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Rat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF005). Specific bands were detected for the ALS/IGFBP-3 Complex at approximately 140 kDa (as indicated) and ALS at approximately 80 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under non-reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: IGFALS/ALS

Acid Labile Subunit (ALS) is a liver-derived serum protein that forms a ternary complex with IGFBP-3 and either IGF-I or IGF-II. The presence of ALS increases the half life of IGF/IGFBP-3 complexes in the circulation.
