Application Notes
WB: Approx. 60 kDa band observed in mouse brain lysates (calculated MW of 54.2 kDa band according to human NP_031389.3 and 54.5 kDa band according to mouse NP_075633.2). In transfected HEK293 transiently expressing human NONO a band of approx. 55 kDa is observed. This band is not observed in the non-transfected HEK293. The endogenous 50 kDa band protein is observed in both. IHC-P: Human spleen shows nuclear staining in select splenocytes.

Background: NONO

This gene encodes a protein associated with the cytoplasmic surface of synaptic vesicles. A subset of patients with stiff-man syndrome who were also affected by breast cancer are positive for autoantibodies against this protein. Alternate splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Additional splice variants have been described, but their full length sequences have not been determined.
