Background: NORE1

RASSF1A, a new tumor-suppressor gene located at 3p21.3 is frequently inactivated by promoter region hypermethylation in a variety of human cancers including lung, breast, kidney and neuroblastoma. Another member of the RASSF1 gene family, Ras effector NORE1, which is structurally related to RASSF1, can also mediate a Ras-dependent apoptosis. Moreover, an analysis of NORE1 protein expression showed that it is frequently down-regulated in lung tumor cell lines and primary lung tumors.

  • Q: Wwe are interested in your product NB500-248 a NORE1 Antibody, since there are two splice products of the NORE1 gen Nore1A and Nore1B (RAPL) we want to know if your antibody is able to detect both Nore1A and Nore1B. We are basically interested in Nore1B. So my question is, if you can tell me that is recognizing Nore1b or if you have pictures of a Western Blot of cell lysat so that I can take a look if it shows 2 bands with the right size?

    A: I am delighted to hear that you are interested in our NORE1 Anitbody. Unfortunately we have not tested whether this recognises both NORE1A and NORE1B. The immunogen is residues 313-329 [DNPQKFALFKRIHKDGQ] of the NORE1 protein. This sequence is located in the RA domain of NORE1, this may be of help to you. I do not have any other image except for the image on the webpage however this is not a good representation of the antibody and it has been provided to us by one of our innovators.
