Specificity

Detects rat CXCL3/CINC-2 alpha / beta in Western blots. In Western blots, approximately 100% cross‑reactivity with recombinant rat (rr) CINC-2 alpha is observed, 50% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) MIP-2 (non-reducing conditions) is observed, 25% cross‑reactivity with rrCINC-1 (non-reducing conditions) is observed, and 5% cross-reactivity with rmKC and recombinant human GRO beta (non-reducing conditions) is observed.

Background: CXCL3/GRO gamma/CINC-2/DCIP-1

CINC-2 alpha and -2 beta are mRNA splice variant isoforms that differ by only 3 amino acids at their amino-termini. These proteins are CXC chemokines most closely related to human GROs and mouse MIP-2. They are produced by granulation tissue, activated macrophages and fibroblasts. CINC-2 biological activities are mediated by CXCR1 or CXCR2.
