Background: SNF5

The SWI/SNF-related, matrix-associated, actin-dependent regulators of chromatin (SMARC), also called BRG1-associated factors (BAFs), have been identified as components of the human SWI/SNF-like chromatin-remodeling protein complexes. SMARCA3 also known as HLTF (helicase-like transcription factor) has been shown to bind DNA promoter elements and stimulate transcription in cooperation with Sp1and Sp3 transcription factors. SMARCA3/HLTF has also been identified as SNF2L3, SNF2-like 3, ZBU1, RUSH, RNF80, HIP116, and HIP116A.
