Immunocytochemistry/ Immunofluorescence: VE-Cadherin Antibody (BV9) [NB600-1409]

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: VE Cadherin Antibody (BV9) [NB600-1409] - Endothelial cells were fixed with 4% PAF (15 min, room temp), and then permeabilized with 0.5% TritionX-100 (3 min, room temperature). Cells were incubated with a final concentration of 10mg/ml BV9. Secondary detection was performed with anti-mouse Alexa-Fluor 647 and counterstained using DAPI.

Background: VE-Cadherin

Cadherins are calcium dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. This cadherin may play an important role in endothelial cell biology through control of the cohesion and organization of the intercellular junctions. It associates with alpha catenin forming a link to the cytoskeleton.
