Product Specifications

Immunogen

A synthetic peptide (coupled to KLH) corresponding to amino acid residues in the central region of human WASF2. This sequence has high homology with similar regions in rat and mouse WASF2, and has low homology to similar regions in WAVE1 and WAVE3. [UniProt# Q9Y6W5]

Specificity

The antibody detects a 84 kDa protein corresponding to the molecular mass of WASF2 on SDS-PAGE immunoblots of human K562, mouse C2C12, and rat PC12 cells.

Clonality

Polyclonal

Host

Rabbit

Isotype

IgG

Theoretical MW

84 kDa.
Disclaimer note: The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors.

Description

WASF2 Antibody

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: WASF2 Antibody [NBP3-23200] -

Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: WASF2 Antibody [NBP3-23200] - Immunocytochemical labeling of WASF2 in rat PC12 cells differentiated with NGF. The cells were labeled with rabbit polyclonal WASF2 (Central) antibody, then detected using appropriate secondary antibody conjugated to Cy3. The antibody was used in the absence (left) or presence (right) of blocking peptide.

Background: WASF2

WASF2 encodes a member of the Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein family. The gene product is a protein that forms a multiprotein complex that links receptor kinases and actin. Binding to actin occurs through a C-terminal verprolin homology domain in all family members. The multiprotein complex serves to tranduce signals that involve changes in cell shape, motility or function. The published map location (PMID:10381382) has been changed based on recent genomic sequence comparisons, which indicate that the expressed gene is located on chromosome 1, and a pseudogene may be located on chromosome X.
