Q: I was looking at the BHMT2 antibody IHC image in brain tissue and I want to know where is this protein expressed? Cytosolic or nuclear ? the image you are showing does not have details.
A: BHMT2 protein is not a very well published target and I do not see any research paper with its immuno-staining data. However, our antibodies NBP1-85826 and NBP2-15585 depicted a strong cytoplasmic staining with mild nuclear positivity for this target in IHC-P and ICC-IF assays. Human Protein Atlas also shows mainly cytoplasmic staining in hepatocytes, renal tubules, thyroid gland and a subset of cells in exocrine pancreas. Chadwick et al. (Genomics. 2000 Nov 15;70(1):66-73) reported that BHMT2 is expressed in liver and kidney, and at reduced levels in the brain, heart, and skeletal muscle.
