HCG is a glycoprotein hormone secreted in pregnancy by embryonic trophoblast cells during the first 7 weeks of gestation. Production subsequently shifts to the placenta, where it continues until term. HCG is a heterodimer consisting of an alpha chain and a beta chain. The alpha chain is common to several other hormones, including lutenizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), while the beta chain is unique to HCG. Both alpha and beta chains contain a cysteine knot motif, also found in growth factors such as TGF-beta family members.

Western Blot: Chorionic Gonadotropin alpha Chain (hCG alpha) Antibody [NBP3-18630]
Western Blot: Chorionic Gonadotropin alpha Chain (hCG alpha) Antibody [NBP3-18630] - Lane 1: Opal Prestained Molecular Weight Marker. Lane 2: hCG alpha (0.05ug) [+]. Lane 3: hCG alpha/U-20S WCL (0.05ug/20ug) [+]. Lane 4: U-20S WCL (20ug) [-]. Lane 5: HeLa WCL (35ug) [+]. Primary Antibody: Anti-alpha-hCG at 1:1000 overnight at 2-8C. Secondary Antibody: Donkey Anti-Goat IgG mx8 HRP Conjugated at 1:40,000 for 30 mins at RT. Block: BlockOut Buffer. Exposure: 30 sec. Predicted MW: alpha subunit ~14.9kDa, full hCG ~37kDa, luteinizing hormone (LH) ~29kDa, thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) ~28kDa, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) ~30kDa. Observed MW: alpha subunit ~15-20kDa, full hCG ~35kDa.ELISA: Chorionic Gonadotropin alpha Chain (hCG alpha) Antibody [NBP3-18630]
ELISA: Chorionic Gonadotropin alpha Chain (hCG alpha) Antibody [NBP3-18630] - Each well was coated in duplicate at 10ug/mL of hCG alpha (RED) and full hCG (BLUE) protein. The starting dilution of antibody was 5ug/mL and the X-axis represents the Log10 of a 3-fold dilution. This titration is a 4-parameter curve fit where the IC50 is defined as the titer of the antibody. Assay performed using 3% Fish Gel/PBS Blocking Buffer, Donkey Anti-Goat IgG MX8 HRP Conjugated Secondary, and TMB ELISA Peroxidase substrate.Applications for Chorionic Gonadotropin alpha Chain (hCG alpha) Antibody - BSA Free
