Background: FPRL1/FPR2

FPRL1 (formyl peptide receptor-like-1 or N-formyl peptide receptor 2) is a multi-pass membrane protein receptor belonging to the GPCR1 family and is expressed abundantly in lungs and neutrophils. Among human FPRs and its variants (FPRL1/FPR-like 1 and FPRL2/FPR-like 2), FPRL1 is less efficiently activated by N-fMLP (N-formylmethionylleucylphenylalanine) than FPR and certain agonists which bind FPRL1 with high affinity includes lipoxin A4 eicosanoid, annexin 1, uPAR, the V3 region of the HIV-1 envelope glycoprotein gp120, the acute-phase protein SAA, the 42-amino-acid form of beta-amyloid, human prion peptide, and cathelicidin LL-37. FPRL1 binding to its agonists triggers the activation of intracellular signaling molecules including calcium, PKC isoforms, phospholipases A2 and D, and MAPKs/p38MAPK. FPRL1 activation may result in an anti-inflammatory outcome counteracting the actions of proinflammatory signals such as leukotriene B4. Expression of FPR1, FPRL1, and FPRL2 has recently been documented to enhance invasive potential of melanoma cells. Moreover, FPRL1 interacts with amyloid beta peptides is implicated in phagocyte attraction to sites of amyloid plaques in Alzheimer's disease.

FAQs for FPRL1/FPR2 Antibody [FITC]

Showing  1 - 1 of 1 FAQ Showing All
  • Q: I am looking for an FPRL1 antibody that is reactive to mouse only. Does Novus have the antibody in question?

A: To answer your question, unfortunately all our FPRL1 antibodies are polyclonal and would detect both mouse and human formyl peptide receptor-like-1 and we do not have any mouse monoclonal antibody for it.
