Product Summary for Human Perforin QuicKit ELISA

The Quantikine QuicKit Human Perforin Immunoassay is a one step, 80-minute solid phase ELISA designed to measure human Perforin levels in cell culture supernates, serum, plasma, and cell lysates. It contains recombinant human Perforin and antibodies raised against the recombinant protein. Results obtained for naturally occurring human Perforin showed linear curves that were parallel to the standard curves obtained using the recombinant QuicKit standards. These results indicate that this kit can be used to determine relative mass values for natural Perforin.

Background: Perforin

Perforin (PRF1) is a 70 kD cytolytic protein that is the major protein constituent of cytoplasmic granules of cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) and natural killer (NK) cells. Specifically, perforin enters the target cell's plasma membrand and creates a intercellular pore to mediate targeted cell lysis. PRF1 antibodies are useful tools for lysis research on both CTLs and NK cells.
