FAQs for Mouse IgG3 Lambda Isotype Control (MG3L)
-
Q: Please provide information about Mouse IgG3 Isotype Control (MG3L)(#NBP1-96977). Has the light chain of this Ab been identified? If so, kappa or lambda?
A:
About the subclass of this isotype control, the following statements were derived from the databases of our manufacturing lab for the product: Application Note: Mouse IgG3 lambda isotype control can be utilized as a control or standard reagent in Flow cytometry, Western Blotting, and ELISA experiments where determination of sample isotype is important. Purity/Specifity: Mouse Isotype control has been prepared from concentrated cell culture supernatant by immunoaffinity chromatography using protein A. In an Ouchterlony double diffusion assay the material is non-reactive with antisera to mouse IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgM and IgA. Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Mouse IgG and anti-Mouse serum. Light and heavy chain composition confirmed by RID. That being said, NBP1-96977 has the lambda light chain, and only reacted with IgG3 itself at the QC tests. Unlike IgG1 and IgG2, which have many subclasses, IgG3 does not (https://absoluteantibody.com/antibody-resources/antibody-overview/antibody-isotypes-subtypes/, https://www.jacksonimmuno.com/technical/products/groups/subclass-specific, https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1111/j.0300-9475.2004.01362.x, and others). In summary, NBP1-96977 is a mouse IgG3 Isotype Control (against IgG3 only no subclass) with the lambda light chain.
