Background: KRT24

The KRT24 gene codes an acidic type I member of the keratin family. These keratin protiens are clustered on a region of chromosome 17q12-q21. The keratin protiens form intermediate filaments. These filaments help to cimpose the cytoskelteon of epithelial cells.
