Background: MRPS18B

Mitochondrial ribosomal protein S18B (MRPS18B), also known as 28S ribosomal protein S18b, ribosomal protein S18-2, C6orf14, PTD017, S18amt, HSPC183, and MRP-S18-2, is a member of the ribosomal protein S18P family. Members of this family assist in protein synthesis and are encoded by nuclear genes. The MRPS18B protein is one of three members of the family that has significant sequence similarity to bacterial S18 proteins.
