Blocking vs. Neutralizing

What’s the difference between blocking and neutralizing? A blocking antibody binds its target and directly interferes with its function, such as blocking cell adhesion or receptor-ligand binding. A neutralizing antibody binds its target and negates its downstream cellular effects, such as cell proliferation or chemotaxis.
