FAQs for SLC39A1 Antibody - BSA Free

Q: I would like to measure Slc39a1 expression profile in my samples, rat brain tissue lysates. Do you think I can use this antibody?
A:
The SLC39A1 antibody with catalog number NBP1-76498 is covered by the Novus Guarantee to detect SLC39A1 by Western blotting, ELISA and IHC in human and mouse samples. Unfortunately we do not yet have any testing data in rat samples. The immunogen used to generate this antibody was a 16 amino acid peptide near the amino terminus of human ZIP1. However I was unable to run an alignment between the human and rat proteins for you, since the rat sequence is not yet available on UniProt. If you can provide the rat sequence I will be happy to carry out the alignment for you to check the sequence homology between human and rat. Alternatively you may be interested in our Innovators Reward Program. This allows you to try our primary antibodies in an untested species or application, without the financial risk of failure. You simply complete an online review with an image, detailing the positive or negative results of your study, and in return you receive a discount voucher for 100% of the purchase price of the reviewed product. You can also submit reviews by emailing innovators@novusbio.com.
