Application Notes

WB: Preliminary experiments gave an approx. 35 kDa band in human brain (hippocampus) lysates after 1 ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 121 kDa band according to NP_443180.2. The 35 kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. IHC-P: Human prostate shows cytoplasm staining of secretory cells in the glands.

Background: SNX26

This gene encodes a member of the sorting nexin family. Members of this family contain a phox (PX) domain, which is a phosphoinositide binding domain, and are involved in intracellular trafficking. The specific function of this protein has not been elucidated. Alternative splice variants have been described but their full length nature has not been determined. SNX26 may be involved in several stages of intracellular trafficking. It could play an important role in the regulation of glucose transport by insulin. It may act as a downstream effector of RHOQ/TC10 in the regulation of insulin-stimulated glucose transport.
