Claudin‑12 is a 244 amino acid multipass membrane protein in the claudin family of epithelial tight junction proteins. Claudin‑12 is expressed on intestinal, bladder, and blood‑brain barrier epithelial cells. Human Claudin‑12 shares 92% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat Claudin‑12.
