Background: CD90/Thy1

CD90 (Thy1) antigen is a GPI linked glycoprotein member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed on murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, cells of granulocytic lineage, early hematopoietic progenitors, fibroblasts, neurons and Kupffer's cells. Thy1 may play a role in cell to cell or cell to ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other events in the brain. It is found in most mouse strains except AKR/J, A, Thy1.1 and B6.PL (74NS) expressing Thy1.1.

    Bovine stem cells were analyzed by flow cytometry using antibodies anti-CD105-FITC (Biorbyt) and anti-CD90-PE (NOVUSBIO).
    Bovine stem cells were analyzed by flow cytometry using antibodies anti-CD105-FITC and anti-CD90-PE (Clone AF-9; Cat# NBP2-47755PE NOVUSBIO. Lot# D113351). No positive staining of CD90 was detected. This experiment have been repeated twice and both showed negative staining of CD-90. These cells are stem cells and can differentiated into multiple lineages of cells (confirmed by our other studies).
