Background: DDX3

DDX3X, also known as ATP-dependent RNA helicase DDX3X, consists of a 73.2 kDa and a 71.4 kDa isoform which is involved in multiple gene expression steps, including transcription and translation. Current research is linking the protein to diseases and disorders such as hypoxia, hepatitis, malaria, infertility, carcinoma, breast cancer, and prostate cancer. The protein interacts in translational control, cell cycle checkpoint control, and receptor signaling pathways with other proteins such as ACTB, TBK1, NFKB2, NXF1, and EIF3B.
