WB: Approx. 47 kDa band observed in human tonsil, thymus, and human breast cancer lysates (calculated MW of 48 kDa band according to NP_001002295.1 and of 47.9 kDa band according to NP_002042.1). An additional band of unknown identity was also consistently observed at 20 kDa. This band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide. have any such results been reported with other antibodies/lysates?

Background: GATA-3

GATA3 is a 45-50 kD transcription factor found in the nucleus of T cells, mast cells, and embryonic brain and kidney that contains a GATA-type zinc finger motif. This transcription factor recognizes and binds the GATA core nucleotide motif (A/T) GATA (A/G) and has been shown to regulate T-H1 and T-H2 cell differentiation by directly binding to the IL-5 and IL-13 promoters, remodeling chromatin structure to open the IL-4 locus, and repressing IL-12R beta-2 chain expression. GATA3 has been shown to be induced by IL-4 through Stat6 and can be upregulated by positive feedback. GATA-3 can be modified by acetylation and has been shown to interact with Smad3.
