Girdin (GIRDers of actIN filaments; also APE and GIV) is a member of the CCDC88 family of molecules. It is a cytosolic protein, ubiquitously expressed, and plays a key role in the motility of breast cancer cells. Human Girdin is 1871 amino acids (aa) in length. It contains two coiled-coil regions that mediate homodimerization (aa 196-425 and 458-1358), and one phosphoinositide-binding domain (aa 1390-1408). Normally, Girdin is membrane-associated via an interaction with phosphoinositides. Upon phosphorylation at Ser1417 by Akt, it relocates to lamellipodia where it crosslinks actin filaments. Multiple isoforms of Girdin have been detected.

Western Blot: Girdin Antibody (M012) [NBP3-23351] -
Western Blot: Girdin Antibody (M012) [NBP3-23351] - Western blot image of human A431 cell lysates treated with pervanadate (lanes 1-4). The blot was treated with alkaline phosphatase to dephosphorylate Girdin phosphosites (lanes 2 & 4). The blot was probed with mouse monoclonal anti-Girdin (lanes 1 & 2) or rabbit polyclonal anti-Girdin (Tyr-1764), phospho-specific (lanes 3 & 4).Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Girdin Antibody (M012) [NBP3-23351] -
Immunocytochemistry/Immunofluorescence: Girdin Antibody (M012) [NBP3-23351] - Immunocytochemical labeling of Girdin in aldehyde fixed and NP-40 permeabilized human NCI-H1915 lung carcinoma cells. The cells were labeled with mouse monoclonal anti-Girdin (NBP3-23351). The antibody was detected using goat anti-mouse DyLight(R) 594.Applications for Girdin Antibody (M012)
