|CNTF R alpha in Rat Brain. CNTF R alpha was detected in perfusion fixed frozen sections of rat brain using 5 µg/mL Goat Anti-Rat CNTF R alpha Biotinylated Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # BAF559) overnight at 4 °C. Before incubation with the primary antibody tissue was subjected to heat-induced epitope retrieval using Antigen Retrieval Reagent-Basic (Catalog # CTS013). Tissue was stained with the Anti-Goat HRP-AEC Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (red; Catalog # CTS009) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). The high-affinity CNTF receptor complex, which mediates the biological action of CNTF, contains the ligand-binding alpha subunit (CNTF R alpha) and two signal-transducing proteins, LIF R beta and gp130. Whereas LIF R beta and gp130 are widely expressed in many cell types, the expression of CNTF R alpha is restricted to the central and peripheral nervous systems. cDNAs encoding CNTF R alpha isolated from both human and rat share 96% amino acid sequence identity.
The reconstitution calculator allows you to quickly calculate the volume of a reagent to reconstitute your vial. Simply enter the mass of reagent and the target concentration and the calculator will determine the rest.
