Integrin alpha V beta 1 (aVb1) is a widely expressed heterodimeric adhesion protein that binds Vitronectin, Fibronectin, Osteopontin, and Angiopoietin-2. It is expressed on early stage differentiating oligodendrocytes, astrocytes, and pancreatic beta cells, and it plays a role in cell migration and virus cellular entry.
