Background: Clusterin-like 1/CLUL1

CLUL1 is a secreted glycoprotein that shares structural similarity but limited sequence identity with CLU (Clusterin). It is predominantly expressed by cone photoreceptor cells in the retina. Human and mouse CLUL1 share 61% amino acid sequence homology.
