Human Tyrosylprotein Sulfotransferase 2 (TPST2) is a 42
kDa (predicted) member of a sulfotransferase family. Two human tyrosylprotein
sulfotransferases (TPSTs), TPST1 and TPST2 mediate tyrosine O-sulfation of more
than 60 different proteins in the Golgi, transferring sulfate from
3'-phosphoadenosine 5'‑phosphosulfate to tyrosine residues contained in
polypeptides with acidic motifs to form a tyrosine O-sulfate ester. TSPT1 and TSPT2
are widely expressed, they show similar tissue distribution and overlapping
substrate specificity.
