Background: Vasorin/SLIT-like 2

Vasorin is a type I membrane protein that is predominantly expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells in a developmentally regulated pattern. Expression is down-regulated during vessel repair after arterial injury. Vasorin directly binds to transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta and attenuates TGF-beta signaling in vitro (1).
