Western blot shows lysates of rat lung tissue and mouse spleen tissue. PVDF Membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Goat Anti-Mouse/Rat PRAT4B Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF5015) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF019). A specific band was detected for PRAT4B at approximately 32 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.

Background: PRAT4B

PRAT4B (protein associated with TLR4-B; also Cnpy4, protein canopy homolog 4) is a member of the canopy family of proteins. It is expressed by diverse cell types, including macrophages, fibroblasts and B cells. PRAT4B appears to be both secreted, and retained internally, where it may stabilize immature TLR protein expression in the ER, and impact its appearance on the cell surface. Mouse PRAT4B is 245 amino acids (aa) in length. It contains a 27 aa signal sequence plus one coiled-coil region (aa 209 - 237). There is one potential splice variant that shows a 13 aa substitution for the C-terminal nine amino acids. Over aa 30 - 245, mouse PRAT4B is 95% and 87% aa identical to rat and human PRAT4B, respectively.
