Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin: CD90/Thy1 Antibody (JF10-09) [NBP2-66763] - Analysis of paraffin-embedded mouse hippocampus tissue using anti-CD90/Thy1 antibody. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0) for 20 minutes.The tissues were blocked in 1% BSA for 30 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with the primary antibody (1/400) for 30 minutes at room temperature. The detection was performed using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. Tissues were counterstained with hematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

Background: CD90/Thy1

CD90 (Thy1) antigen is a GPI linked glycoprotein member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed on murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, cells of granulocytic lineage, early hematopoietic progenitors, fibroblasts, neurons and Kupffer's cells. Thy1 may play a role in cell to cell or cell to ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other events in the brain. It is found in most mouse strains except AKR/J, A, Thy1.1 and B6.PL (74NS) expressing Thy1.1.
