Product Specifications

Immunogen

E. coli-derived recombinant human PDGF‑BB
Ser82-Thr190
Accession # P01127

Specificity

Detects human PDGF-B subunit in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs, shows approximately 40% cross‑reactivity with recombinant human (rh) PDGF‑AB and no cross-reactivity with rhCTGF, rhLDGF, rhPDGF‑AA, recombinant rat (rr) PDGF‑AA, rrPDGF‑AB, rrPDGF‑BB, rhPDGF‑C, rhPDGF‑D, rhPlGF, rhVEGF, rhVEGF‑C, or rhVEGF‑D.

Background: PDGF-B

Four PDGF family members, A, B, C and D, have been identified. PDGF-B can exist as a disulfide-linked homodimer (PDGF-BB) or heterodimer (PDGF-AB). PDGF-B binds and activates PDGF R alpha and PDGF R beta.

FAQs for Human PDGF‑B Antibody

Showing  1 - 1 of 1 FAQ Showing All
  • Q: Why are non-reducing conditions recommended for Human PDGF-B Antibody, Catalog # MAB220, in Western blot?

A: Catalog # MAB220 recognizes a conformational epitope on PDGF-B which can exist as a disulfide-linked homodimer (PDGF-BB) or heterodimer (PDGF-AB). Reducing conditions will break disulfide bonds and destroy the epitope the antibody recognizes. Therefore, non-reducing conditions are needed for Western Blot.
