Detection of Human VASA by Western Blot. Western blot shows lysates of human testis tissue. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Mouse Anti-Human VASA Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB2030) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Mouse IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF018). A specific band was detected for VASA at approximately 85 kDa (as indicated). This experiment was conducted under reducing conditions and using Immunoblot Buffer Group 1.
Preparation and Storage
Reconstitute at 0.5 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

VASA, also known as DDX4, is a member of the DEAD box family of
ATP-dependent RNA helicases. The expression of VASA in invertebrate and
vertebrate species is restricted to germ cells and is required for germ
cell formation. VASA is a highly specific marker of germ cells.
