Western Blot: IL-2 Antibody (LNKB-2) [NBP2-81047] - Western Blot using anti-IL-2 antibody (LNKB-2) [NBP2-81047]. Untreated human peripheral blood monocyte (PBM) (A), PMA/lonomycin-treated PBM (B), human spleen (C), human thymus (D), Jurkat cell (E) and Molt4 cell (F) lysate samples (35ug protein in RIPA buffer) were resolved on a 15% SDS PAGE gel and blots probed with the rabbit IgG-chimeric version of LNKB-2 [NBP2-81047] at 1 ug/ml (A, B) or 0.1 ug/ml (C-F) before detection using an anti-rabbit secondary antibody. Protein was detected by chemiluminescence. The expected running size for IL-2 is 17.6kDa. NBP2-81047 successfully detected Il-2 in multiple human tissue / cell samples.

Background: IL-2

Interleukin 2 (IL-2) is a potent immunoregulatory growth factor produced by T-cells following stimulation by mitogens or allogens. IL-2 promotes growth and differentiation of various cells of the immune system, such as activated T-cells and B-cells, NK cells, lymphokine activated killer cells, monocytes and macrophages. It is essential for proper immune response, it may also be an important factor in the natural suppression of autoimmunity. IL2 may be of use as an anti-tumor agent in cancer therapy. Recombinant human IL2 is a 15.5 kDa protein, consisting of 134 amino acid residues. Human and mouse IL-2 share 56% aa sequence identity and exhibit cross-species activity.
