FAQs for Monkey IL-6 ELISA Kit (Colorimetric)

Q: I was wondering if you know of any blocking antibodies against IL-6 or VEGF-C that can be used in cell culture to quench these cytokines?
A: We have no antibodies that are currently known to show blocking antibodies to VEGF-C. Please see this link to our IL-6 antibodies with blocking/neutralizing activity can be found at this link.
-
Q: I would like to use NBP1-92707, Primate IL-6 ELISA Kit, but it suggests units as Units/ml. Some vendors report units in pg/ml, so please provide the conversion factor to pg/ml.
A: It appears that the lab which you are mentioning to is using "relative units" defined in their assay, not international units (IU). The correlation is roughly 1:1 and so 120U/ml = 120pg/ml. We could not find a WHO reference standard for monkey's IL-6 but there is one for human protein which you may reviewe for information purpose: http://www.nibsc.org/documents/ifu/89-548.pdf
