In direct ELISAs, approximately 25‑50% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse FGF R3 (IIIb) is observed and 12% with recombinant human (rh) FGF R4 is observed and no cross-reactivity with (IIIc) isoforms of rhFGF R3 or any isoforms of rhFGF R1 or rhFGF R2 is observed.

The Neutralization Dose (ND50) is typically 0.5-2 µg/mL in the presence of 300 ng/mL Recombinant Human FGF R3 (IIIb) Fc Chimera, 0.3 ng/mL Recombinant Human FGF acidic, and 10 µg/mL heparin.

FGF R3 Inhibition of FGF acidic-dependent Cell Proliferation and Neutralization by Human FGF R3 Antibody. Recombinant Human FGF R3 (IIIb) Fc Chimera (Catalog # 1264-FR) inhibits Recombinant Human FGF acidic (Catalog # 232‑FA) induced proliferation in the NR6R‑3T3 mouse fibroblast cell line in a dose-dependent manner (orange line). Inhibition of Recombinant Human FGF acidic (0.3 ng/mL) activity elicited by Recombinant Human FGF R3 (IIIb) Fc Chimera (300 ng/mL) is neutralized (green line) by increasing concentrations of Mouse Anti-Human FGF R3 (IIIb) Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB1474). The ND50 is typically 0.5-2 µg/mL in the presence of heparin (10 µg/mL).

Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor 3 (FGF R3) is a type I transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor that binds FGF ligands along with heparin or heparin sulfateproteoglycans as cofactors. A segment of the membrane proximal Ig-like domain can be encoded by two different exons resulting in (IIIb) or (IIIc) isoforms. The IIIb or IIIc isoforms recognize FGF-1, -2, -4, -8b, -8e, -8f, -9,and -17b. FGF R3 plays a role in skeletal, brain, lung, intestine, kidney, and skin development.
