Detects human NRG1 Isoform GGF2 in direct ELISAs and Western blots. In direct ELISAs, less than 1% cross‑reactivity with recombinant human (rh) NRG‑1 alpha EGF domain, rhNRG1-beta 1 extracellular domain, rhNRG1-beta 1 EGF domain, rhSMDF, and recombinant mouse NRG3 is observed.

Background: Neuregulin-1 Isoform GGF2

By alternative splicing, the Neuregulin 1 gene ecodes at least 10 secreted or membrane-bound proteins, all of which contain an EGF-like domain. Neuregulin 1 isoforms bind and signal via the ErbB family of receptor tyrosine kinases. Isoform GGF2 contains a unique kringle-like domain, plus Ig and EGF-like domains that are also present in multiple Neuregulin 1 isoforms.
