Scientific Data

Vanilloid R1/TRPV1 in Rat Dorsal Root Ganglion. Vanilloid R1/TRPV1 was detected in perfusion fixed frozen sections of rat dorsal root ganglion using 15 µg/mL Goat Anti-Rat Vanilloid R1/TRPV1 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF3066) overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained (red) and counterstained (green). View our protocol for Fluorescent IHC Staining of Frozen Tissue Sections.

Vanilloid R1/TRPV1 in Rat Brain. Vanilloid R1/TRPV1 was detected in perfusion fixed frozen sections of rat brain using Rat Vanilloid R1/TRPV1 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF3066) at 15 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained using the NorthernLights™ 557-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (yellow; Catalog # NL001) and counterstained with DAPI (blue). Background: Vanilloid R1/TRPV1
VR1, also known as TRPV1 (Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 1) and capsaicin receptor, is a 115 kDa integral membrane ion channel that has six transmembrane domains and contains intracellular N-and C-termini. It contributes to normal pain and temperature sensation and also has a “sensory-effector” function. By alternative splicing, at least three VR1 isoforms are known. The sequence of residues 4-21 of rat VR1 is 78% and 28% identical to that of mouse and human VR1, respectively.
