Scientific Data Images for Human Adenosine A1R Antibody

Detection of Adenosine A1R in human liver cancer.

Adenosine A1R was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of liver cancer using Mouse Anti-Human Adenosine A1R Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB11135) at 5 µg/mL for 1 hour at room temperature followed by incubation with the Anti-Mouse IgG VisUCyte™ HRP Polymer Antibody (Catalog # VC001). Before incubation with the primary antibody, tissue was subjected to heat-induced epitope retrieval using VisUCyte Antigen Retrieval Reagent-Basic (Catalog # VCTS021). Tissue was stained using DAB (brown) and counterstained with Hematoxylin (blue). Specific staining was localized to cytoplasm in cancer cells. View our protocol for IHC Staining with VisUCyte HRP Polymer Detection Reagents.

Background: Adenosine A1R

Adenosine A1 Receptor (ADORA1, Adenosine A1R) is an adenosine receptor that belongs to the G protein-coupled receptor family (GPCR). There are 3 types of adenosine receptors, each with a specific pattern of ligand binding and tissue distribution, and together they regulate a diverse set of physiologic functions. The Adenosine A1R receptor inhibits adenylyl cyclase, and plays a role in the fertilization process. Animal studies also suggest a role for A1 receptors in kidney function and ethanol intoxication.
