Reacts with multiple isoforms of human FGF R2 although it shows a marked preference for human FGF R2 (IIIb) isoforms in some assays as described below. In direct ELISAs, displays a three-fold preference for FGF R2 (IIIb) isoforms over (IIIc) isoforms. Shows approximately 50% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) FGF R2 isoforms and no cross-reactivity with any isoforms of recombinant human (rh) FGF R1 or rhFGF R3. In Western blots, shows approximately 25% cross-reactivity with rhFGF R2 (IIIc) isoforms, 100% cross-reactivity with all isoforms of rmFGF R2 and no cross-reactivity with any isoforms of rhFGF RI, rhFGF R3, or rhFGF R4. FGF R2 alpha Inhibition of FGF acidic-dependent Cell Proliferation and Neutralization by Human FGF R2 Antibody. Recombinant Human FGF R2 alpha (IIIb) Fc Chimera (Catalog # 663-FR) inhibits Recombinant Human FGF acidic (Catalog # 232-FA) induced proliferation in the NR6R‑3T3 mouse fibroblast cell line in a dose-dependent manner (orange line). Inhibition of Recombinant Human FGF acidic (0.3 ng/mL) activity elicited by Recombinant Human FGF R2 alpha (IIIb) Fc Chimera (6 ng/mL) is neutralized (green line) by increasing concentrations of Human FGF R2 (IIIb) Monoclonal Antibody (Catalog # MAB665). The ND50 is typically 2-8 µg/mL in the presence of heparin (10 µg/mL).

for several FGF family proteins. The extracellular domain includes
three ( alpha isoforms) or two ( beta isoforms) Ig-like domains. Alternative

membrane proximal Ig-like domain.
