The eukaryotic translation elongation factor-2 (eEF-2) is a GTP-binding protein that is required for the translocation step from the A site to the P site of the ribosome. Phosphorylation of eEF-2 by the eEF-2 kinase causes complete inhibition of its activity.

Detection of Human/Mouse/Rat eEF‑2 by Western Blot.
Western blot shows lysates of NRK rat normal kidney cell line, U2OS human osteosarcoma cell line, and Balb/3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cell line. PVDF membrane was probed with 1 µg/mL of Human/Mouse/Rat eEF-2 Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF3806) followed by HRP-conjugated Anti-Goat IgG Secondary Antibody (Catalog # HAF109). A specific band was detected for eEF-2 at approximately 110 kDa (as indicated).
