Mucin and cadherin-like protein (MUCDHL), also known as μ-protocadherin, is a 110 kDa type I transmembrane protein that is both O- and N-glycosylated. It is a calcium-dependant cell adhesion protein in the cadherin superfamily. MUCDHL is found on intestinal and renal epithelium. Human MUCDHL extracellular domain (ECD) contains four cadherin domains (residues 71-459) plus several mucin domains (residues 540-645). Alternate splicing creates four isoforms that differ in their mucin domains. In the region used as immunogen, human and mouse MUCDHL share 63% amino acid sequence identity.

Scientific Data Images for Human MUCDHL Antibody
MUCDHL in Human Kidney.
MUCDHL was detected in immersion fixed paraffin-embedded sections of human kidney using 15 µg/mL Goat Anti-Human MUCDHL Antigen Affinity-purified Polyclonal Antibody (Catalog # AF3826) overnight at 4 °C. Tissue was stained with the Anti-Goat HRP-DAB Cell & Tissue Staining Kit (brown; Catalog # CTS008) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific labeling was localized to the plasma membrane of epithelial cells in collecting tubules. View our protocol for Chromogenic IHC Staining of Paraffin-embedded Tissue Sections.
